Looking after a loved one with Dementia can be a difficult job, with the majority of responsibility falling to a single person. Carers can find themselves struggling to provide care for their loved one and becoming increasingly isolated from their families, friends and community. Through user stories we present an honest overview of the unmet needs and experiences of carers with the current care services and the risk of loneliness and isolation. Through a small but meaningful change to an existing care service we show the importance of social engagement and support for carers, and that impactful and meaningful service solutions don’t have to cost the earth!
